1. Page 34, Figure 2-8. The label on the right should be M. Ramirez instead of M. Martinez.
2. Page 39, line 14. “represented by a solid dot” should be “represented by a solid square”
3. Page 67, line 6 ".383 and .457" should be ".385 and .459".
Chapter 4
4. p. 76, line 19. "that he gets a hit in a plate appearance" should be "that he gets a hit in an at-bat".
5. Page 77, caption for Table 4.2. Should read "Number of hits in 601 at-bats for 100 seasons assuming Scott Rolen is a .300 hitter."
6. Page 86, 2nd to last bullet in the middle of the page. Change to "when the team is in scoring position and when no one is on and no outs". Last bullet Ò change to "when the pitcher is ahead in the count and when there are two strikes"
7. Page 93, line 7 from bottom. "will compute AlomarÌs batting average" (remove extra space and correct apostophe)
8. Page 96, heading of Table 4-9 should be "FIRST FOUR YEARS"

9. Page 128, Figure 5-8. The spinners in the
figure are labeled incorrectly. In the "hot" spinner, .40 should be
.38 and .60 should be .62. In the cold spinner, .20 should be .18 and .80
should be .82.

10. Page 133, Table 5-11. The column totals are wrong Ò they should be 1340 and 660 (instead of 1240 and 760). So the probabilities calculations described in the bottom of the page are incorrect. The probability that Zeile is streaky will be 430/660 = .65 (instead of .70) and the probability that he is consistent is 230/660 = .35 (instead of .30). The conclusion stated on the top of page 134 is still valid Ò there is some support for true streakiness in ZeileÌs data.
11. Page 191, footnote. Should be "the probability of scoring 3 or more runs was exactly 3."
12. Figure 8-2 on page 211:
The four titles on the left side ("Pr(2 Reach Base)", "Pr(3 Reach Base)",
etc.) are associated with the four lines which fan out from the single
point on the left. So that,
"Pr(2 Reach Base)" is the label for the line to "2 REACH BASE"
"Pr(3 Reach Base)" is the label for the line to "3 REACH BASE"
"Pr(4 Reach Base)" is the label for the line to "4 REACH BASE"
"Pr(5 Reach Base)" is the label for the line to "5 REACH BASE"
13. Page 216, f4 should be .07614, not .7614
14. Page 217. The second paragraph number 3. should be deleted.

15. Page 255, line 3. “Game-7 home run” should be “Game-6 home run”
16. On page 285, Fidrich should be Fidrych.

23. Page 336, line 13. It is more accurate to say "these indicate that it was rare for these bad teams to have good or excellent seasons"(See Table 11-10).
24. Page 336, last paragraph. "The data in Table 11-11" should be replaced by "The data in Table 11-10"
25. Page 336, Table 11-11. The number for the bad ability-good performance cell should be 0.4, not 0.
26. Page 339, Table 11-14. The number in the lower right corner should be 0.11, not 0.21.
27. Page 339, Figure 11-15. There are five lines presented in the figure. The top line corresponds to the probabilities for the "Best Team", the next line below corresponds to the probabilities for the "Excellent Team", and so on. The lines connecting the probability lines in the figure to the labels are missing.
